About Allergy Partners
A Network Built Specifically for You
Allergy Partners was created to do one thing: Bring the highest level of care and clinical expertise to as many people as possible living with allergies, asthma and other allergic disease. After 40 years, and after caring for hundreds of thousands of patients, our focus remains the same.
“You’re really getting 150 allergists, not just one.”
Stephen Shield, MD,
Chairman of the Clinical Governance Board
What began as a community practice in Asheville, North Carolina, has grown to become the nation’s largest and most trusted allergy and asthma practice comprising 150 of the best allergists and immunologists in the country. Each provider in our network understands the importance of working together to solve any complex problem brought on by asthma and allergies. This shared knowledge enables us to bring world-class medicine and leading-edge practices to communities across the country.
What Guides Us?
Our guiding light is you, our patient. In every decision we make, we ask, “Will this be better for those that entrust us with their care?” This guiding principle flows through every aspect of our practice, enabling us to remove the obstacles facing so many physicians today so they can focus on what matters most–caring for you.
To learn more about how we can help, find your local office and make an appointment today. Together, we will ensure that you receive only the best.
“Our goal is to be the absolute best place for a patient to receive care.”
David A. Brown, M.D., Founder & CEO

Physician Leadership
Jonathan Romeo, D.O.
Dr. Romeo joins Allergy Partners of the Triangle after moving from Charlotte, where he previously worked at a private allergy practice. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, and his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Wake Forest University.
“I became fascinated with allergy and immunology early in my medical training. The study of how the body responds and adapts to the world around it is truly an amazing thing. Sometimes, this causes problems when something that should be safe, like a food, drug, or pollen causes an unwanted reaction. My goal as your doctor is to help you understand why your body is reacting the way that it is and help you to manage your symptoms. I am humbled by the trust you and your family put in me and will strive to provide you with the best care possible.”

Christopher Copenhaver, M.D.
I initially moved to North Carolina to attend medical school at The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. After completing my allergy training at the University of Wisconsin and practicing back in my home state of Pennsylvania for 5 years, my family and I were excited to move back to North Carolina in 2009.
My interest in treating allergies and asthma stems from my personal experience as a patient. I have experienced firsthand the great improvement in quality-of-life patients have with proper treatment of their allergies and asthma. I believe that patient education and involving patients in making decisions are key components of medical care. By listening to patients and families, I work with them to develop an individualized treatment plan.
I care for patients of all ages for a range of allergic diseases and have particular interest in asthma, allergies, sinusitis and bee sting allergy. Outside of work, I enjoy mountain biking and hiking with my wife, who is a local family doctor, and our 3 children.
