I grew up in rural Cushing, Oklahoma, and continue to live there today. Upon graduation, I attended Oklahoma State University and obtained my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 2009. I returned home to Cushing upon graduation and worked with a local physician and NP that spiked my interest in family medicine. I attended nursing school at the University of Oklahoma in Duncan, OK. I again returned home to Cushing and worked at the local hospital for a couple of years in Med-Surg and ER units before starting my master’s with Graceland University. During NP school, I worked as a care coordinator to assist patients with educating them on their chronic illnesses and preventing hospitalizations. Educating patients has been a passion of mine. It empowers the patient to engage in proper self-care for improved disease management. I have worked in family medicine for the past seven years, starting in Sand Springs in 2016, and then I transferred to Cushing in 2019. I have a personal interest in allergies and asthma. My son has asthma, and we do immunotherapy together to assist with allergies. I’m excited to help other families with their allergy and asthma needs. My personal interests are reading, family activities, vacations, and watching my children at their sporting events.
