Irina Dawson, MD
Dr. Dawson completed her fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. While training at the University of South Florida-Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, she had the honor of serving as Chief-Fellow. Dr. Dawson has participated in clinical research, published in the Frontiers of Immunology, and presented her work at national conferences including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and Clinical Immunology Society.
While her interest in the field of Allergy and Immunology was sparked by the complexity of the immune system, what ultimately led Dr. Dawson to pursue the field is the ability to provide care to patients of all ages with a wide variety of allergic/immunologic diseases.
Dr. Dawson has managed patients with rare and complex immunodeficiencies and autoimmune conditions, in addition to more common allergic disorders, such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, and food allergy. Her areas of clinical interest include food allergy, oral immunotherapy, drug allergy, severe eczema, chronic hives, and primary immunodeficiency.
Dr. Dawson’s approach to patient care is centered on evidence-based medicine and shared decision making. “I take the time to listen to my patients and their concerns. I want them to understand their medical diagnosis and treatment options. Together we can then establish a treatment plan that will be most effective for them.”
Her personal interests include gardening, photography, and yoga. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active and engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking and running with her husband.
