Katherine Tison, MD
Dr. Tison is a Georgia native and grew up in metro Atlanta. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and attended the Medical College of Georgia. She is a dual internal medicine and pediatrics board certified physician with research experience in patient education, primary immunodeficiencies, and food allergy. She completed a 2-year clinical fellowship in allergy and immunology at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. While at Emory, her mentor was Dr. Brian Vickery, a national leader in pediatric food allergies who has performed pioneering research about a new food allergy treatment known as oral immunotherapy (OIT). Dr. Tison has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented her research at national conferences, and been an invited speaker at state allergy-immunology meetings. She brings her experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of allergic and immunologic conditions to the Wilmington community.
In her spare time, Dr. Tison enjoys being outdoors, exploring the picturesque nature trails and beautiful beaches around Wilmington with her husband and black Labrador, and (safely) traveling to visit family and friends. She is excited to join a thriving practice with Drs. Yip, Myers, and Lucas who all have decades of experience and expertise in the field. Her main goal is to provide high-quality, patient-centered allergy-immunology specialty care for Wilmington families.
