Olga Hardin, MD
Dr. Olga Hardin completed her undergraduate studies in Cell Biology and Neuroscience at Rutgers University. She participated in an international research program working on cancer research at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. She received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After completing internal medicine residency training, she stayed on as faculty in the department of internal medicine providing primary care to complex patients and mentoring residents.
She developed an interest in allergy and immunology through her involvement in asthma research. She subsequently completed fellowship training in Pediatric and Adult Allergy and Immunology at Duke Medical Center. While in fellowship, her research efforts were focused on primary immunodeficiency and asthma. She has presented posters at national meetings and has published articles in Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice and Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.
After fellowship training, Dr. Hardin has been in private practice in Maryland and Vermont working with all age groups. Her clinical interests include food allergy, asthma, allergic rhinitis and hives. She aims to provide innovative evidence-based care to patients to meet individual patient goals and lessen the burden of disease on patients’ lives. She believes that the key to treatment is understanding the underlying pathology and having the correct diagnosis.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids and husband, who is also a physician in the RVA area. Dr. Hardin loves art, cooking, traveling and community events.
